What a site’s position in Google is
A position is the place of a site or page in Google results for a specific query. Position one means the first organic result, and eleven is the start of the second page. Most clicks go to the first results, so knowing where you stand for a keyword matters for both SEO and advertising. This is exactly the number that is missing: reports on impressions and clicks only show an average position.
How the position check works
- You enter a site (or the full address of a page) and a keyword.
- We send a query to Google results for Ukraine, Ukrainian language, and take the results page by page, ten at a time.
- We look for your domain together with subdomains (or, if a page is given, exactly its address) and return the place number and the page that ranks.
- We show the top 10 so you can see the competitors for this query.
What you get
Why the position differs from what you see in your browser
When you search yourself, Google tailors the results to you: search history, location, device and even the time of day. Our check takes a neutral snapshot of results for Ukraine without personalisation, so the place can differ by a few positions. This is normal: to compare over time it is important to check in the same way, not rely on a one-off match in a browser.
What to do with the result
- Positions 1–3. You are in the highest-traffic zone. Make sure competitors do not overtake you.
- Positions 4–10. The first page, but far from the top. Improve the title, headings and text of the page for the query.
- Positions 11–30. The second or third page. Internal links and expanded text often help.
- Beyond 30 or not in the top 100. First make sure the page is in the index: indexing check, and then check the technical quality of the site.
What other tools there are
To understand why a page is not growing, use the website check (SEO, speed, technical state and AI readiness), the speed check or the broken link check.
Limits of the check
We show Google’s organic results for Ukraine in Ukrainian. Ads, map blocks and featured answers do not count towards the position. Results change constantly, so the outcome is a snapshot of this moment, and different cities and devices may give slightly different numbers. We do not guarantee that Google will show the same position to everyone.
What else StayIndexed can do
This page is a service of StayIndexed. In your account you can check positions up to the top 100 with history, while the service’s main job is to track whether your pages stay in Google and to alert you when they drop out.
How much it costs
One position check up to the top 100 costs 80 tokens (≈ 3 UAH), and a repeat check of the same pair within an hour is free. Tokens also pay for indexing, speed and backlinks: 3 tokens per check. On sign-up 30 tokens are credited, no card needed; for a position check you will need to top up your balance (minimum 1000 tokens).
Frequently asked questions
How do I check a site’s position in Google by keyword?
Enter a site address and a keyword in the form above and sign up through Google. In your account you will confirm the charge, and we will show the site’s place up to the top 100 in results for Ukraine and the first ten results.
How much does a position check cost?
One check up to the top 100 costs 80 tokens (≈ 3 UAH). A repeat check of the same “site and keyword” pair within an hour is free. Sign-up is free and gives 30 tokens, and for a position check you will need to top up your balance.
Why is the position in my browser different?
Google personalises results: it takes into account your history, location and device. We show a neutral snapshot for Ukraine, so the numbers may differ by a few positions.
What does “not in the top 100” mean?
It means the site was not found among the first hundred results. Often the reason is that the page is not in the index or does not match the query well enough.
For which region are positions checked?
For Ukraine, and the results language is Ukrainian. We will add other countries and languages later.
Can I check the position of a specific page?
Yes. Enter the full address of the page and we will find exactly it. If you enter only a domain, the highest page of the site (including subdomains) is counted.
Is the position change saved?
In your account every check is saved in the history, and you see how much the position has changed compared with the previous check of the same pair.
